During the summer and winter months when local schools are closed, we remain open and offer a fun and interesting course for children to join on a long- or short-term basis. Winter Camp is usually held around Chinese New Year and lasts for 3 weeks, while Summer Camp is held in July and August lasts for 8 weeks.
Summer and Winter Camps are a little different from our usual school program, in that we focus more on Arts & Crafts, Physical Development and Musical Fun. Each year our summer and winter holiday camps will have different themes and activities, contact us for news on our upcoming holiday camps.
Our team comes from different backgrounds but are united in their passion for early year’s education. All teachers are role models so one of the most important factors to consider in a teacher is their character and personality. At Melodie we acknowledge the importance of music and physical activity to young children. It is part of daily life here at school. In addition to having regular play time where kids can freely express themselves and explore, we also have many active classes with specialist teachers. Activities include Karate, Latin dancing, Ballet, and football.
Our curriculum has developed over time to be full of interesting, fun, and progressive courses that are designed to give every child a rich early years’ experience and to prepare them for the next stage of their learning journey. We acknowledge that playing is also such an important part of the early years’ development, so we allow plenty of time for play in all our programs.
We use a wealth of resources to allow the children to develop in all aspects, from writing, painting, and climbing; to singing, dancing, and designing; our early years program has got it covered!
We have weekly themes that form the basis of our lesson planning while the daily activities are planned in line with the British EYFS standards.

The EYFS lays the foundations for a solid education, providing the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It also allows for a lot of creativity and flexibility from our wonderful teachers, to ensure the activities are appropriate and stimulating for all ages.
